20 Months After: Tinubu yet to release Kanu, Igbo leaders attribute S/E insecurity to detention

Twenty Months after inauguration, Tinubu is yet to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
This delay in the release of Nnamdi Kanu has been attributed to the insecurity in the South East by the leaders of the Zone.

Some of the leaders of the Igbos who have appealed to the Tinubu led administration to in interest of peace as well as insecurity in the zone include the immediate former President General of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide, late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Senator representing Imo West in the Red Chambers, Senator Osita Izunaso, the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo.
Others that also appealed to the present administration to release Nnamdi Kanu were, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha , Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu amongst Others.
The above leaders however were of the opinions that continued detention of Kanu will keep fueling the insecurity in the zone given that the bad eggs in the zone now cause commotion in the area in the name of detention of Kanu.
Few days ago, former Director of DSS, Mike Ejiofor appealed to the President to release unconditionally, Nnamdi Kanu pointing out that the insecurity in the zone would stop until the said Nnamdi Kanu is set free.
The former security boss who spoke in Arise TV few days ago maintained that with the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, those bad eggs that hide under the umbrella of IPOB to torment innocent citizens would be apprehended.
Recall that Nnamdi Kanu was arrested under the regime of former President Buhari from Kenya, an arrest which Courts have described as abduction hence the process of repatriation was not observed.
Since the arrest of Kanu, many people have been killed, including security personnel which some of those responsible were caught and others were not.
At the burial of late Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo president few months ago,late Iwuanyanwu, the younger brother of Nnamdi Kanu, Prince Emmanuel Kanu accused President Tinubu of relegating on his promise to release Nnamdi Kanu upon assumption of Office as President.
According to Kanu’s brother, there was an understanding between him and Tinubu’s Son that the said Nnamdi Kanu would be released immediately Tinubu mounts the podium as President during his presidential campaign.
