Professor Protus Uzoma says that all Imo leaders are Obidients except immediate former Governor of Imo State,Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha. This is even as he described the former Governor as selfish and another” emi lo Kan” of Imo State and Igbo Land in general.
Professor Nathan Uzorma, a critic Writer and social crusader who disclosed this in Owerri last Thursday while interacting with selected Journalists however commended the leadership role, the national Secretary of the PDP, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu is playing in Igbo land revealed that Anyanwu is the kind of leader Imo State and Igbo people in general need in Politics. According to the young and vibrant professor, Anyanwu was one of the Igbo leaders who vehemently challenged President Buhari when he described the Igbo race as people on the “dot” Uzorma, a former Deputy Governorship candidate in Imo however used the forum to commend the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma over what he described as a show of brotherhood to the Labour party presidential candidate, Peter Obi who stormed Imo last Tuesday for the kick off the 2023 presidential càmpaigns of the Labour party. According Protus, Uzodinma despite his positions in the ruling APC still understands and believes in the course of Igbo. Describing the Anyanwu and Uzodinma as direct opposites of Ihedioha made it clear that Ihedioha’s quest for power particularly the Governorship seat of Imo which he held unto the PDP’S Tickets since 2015 has beclouded his reasoning hence his open càmpaigns against Peter Obi’s presidential ambition.
On the 2023 Nigeria Presidency, Uzorma revealed that his support for Peter Obi transcends Igbos turn for Presidency but given his transformation agenda for the nation,Nigeria.
Professor Uzorma while accusing the Westerners of being responsible for the bad leadership in Africa and in Nigeria in particular expressed fear that the Western World may not be supportive of Obi’s Presidency who they know that has the capacity of transform Nigeria from a consumption nation to a productive nation. The Westerners know that Obi has the capacity of transforming Nigeria from a consumption state to productive nation and where this happens, they have lost their influence in the nation hence they may not support him but they cannot stop a person who God has chosen,he said. He however pointed out that though the West has left Nigeria after years of colonisation but still interested in nation’s leadership owing to their economic interest and gains.
According to him, the West introduced what he described as “institionalised corruption” in Nigeria and has always achieved that aim by ensuring that their stooges remain leaders of the nation. Describing Peter Obi’s emergence as party’s presidential candidate as an act of God bringing a man out of the cave to reposition and transform others, Uzorma revealed that the time for Nigeria to get better has come hence everybody should support the said ambition.
