Ahead of 2027 Imo Governorship election, one of the business moguls in Imo, Prince Alex Mbata appears to be under pressure to run for the office of the number one citizen in Imo.
This is even as a group under the 1 of ” Imo Like Minds For Good Governance” described him as the only answer to good governance in Imo ahead of 2027.
In a release signed by the group’s President, Barr Jude Okenwa as well as the Secretary,Prince Chinedu Nnawuihe and made available to Lead Express, the group made it clear that for Imo to move in the fast lane of development like other States in Nigeria, an experienced administrator in the person of Mbata needs to be elected the next Governor of Imo State.
In the said release, the group made it clear that Imo needs not only an administrator per excellence but a selfless and contented fellow like Mbata who according to them had empowered thousands of Imo People under PALM foundation with his personal resources.
Appealing to Imo People as well as the political leaders to ensure that the tenets of the Charter of equity as proposed by Imo Elders Council are respected in 2027, the group made it clear that Mbata remains the right person being an Indigene of Owerri Zone.
They however used the medium to call on the people of Okigwe zone to support Owerri and Mbata so as to take over after the elapse of his tenure.
