Insecurity: Imo CP Meets Owerri West Stakeholders

In line with his community policing oriented approach to combatting crime, the Commissioner of Police Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma has convened a pivotal security meeting with the Stakeholders of Avu, Okolochi, Eziobodo, and Ihiagwa communities in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state to discuss and collaboratively roll out crime prevention strategies to drastically reduce the worrisome rise in violent crimes within these communities and improve the overall security of the State.

Speaking during the interactive meeting, the CP emphasized the importance of strengthening the local vigilantes to assist the police and other security agencies in beefing up security in their respective communities. The CP noted that security is everybody’s business and advised that all hands must be on deck in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.

The stakeholders identified some areas as black spots in their community and the CP immediately tasked the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, to carry out intense operation in robust synergy with the local vigilantes and flush out criminally minded elements engaging in violent activities in the state. He asserted that round-the-clock visibility policing and confidence-building patrol must be sustained in the state.

CP Danjuma further advised the general public to be security conscious and urged them to support the police and other security agencies in safeguarding their communities by reporting any suspicious person seen or clandestine activity observed in their vicinity via 08034773600 or 08098880197. He affirmed that the command under his watch will continue to partner with the stakeholders and embrace efforts that will improve the security situation in the state.
