Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Imo State graduate identified as Nerus Elemamba, has committed suicide.
The 30-year-old graduate who studied Architecture at Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, was found dangling in his room on Monday evening, March 11, in his village, in Umuohii, Obaoma community, Ezinihitte-Mbaise Local government Area of the state.
The tragic incident wad said to have happened shortly after he participated in the village’s manual labour involving his peers.
According to villagers who witnessed the ugly incident, he was said to be in good spirits during the village clean-up exercise and showed no signs of depression and his death had shocked modt of the villagers who were trying to understand his motives as he left no suicide note.
He was buried on Tuesday, March 12, after the required cultural rituals to appease the land were carried out.
