At last,peace has returned in Orlu Zone and Orlu Zurumee in particular as the organisation last Sunday elected the new Executive members.
The election which took place in Owerri had in attendance, the pioneer founders as well as the new generation leaders of the organisation.
The election which had Rt Hon Ugochukwu Nzekwe elected as the President General, Prof Protus Uzorma as Vice, Hon Ngozi Obiefule as Woman leader was described as most peaceful since the inception of the organisation.
Addressing the Press after the election, the new President General, Rt Hon Ugochukwu Nzekwe expressed gratitude to the people for finding him worthy of the seat ,vowing not to disappoint them.
Nzekwe who made it clear that his coming on board would energize the organisation by pushing its presence in all the Communities across Orlu Zone made it clear that Orlu Zone has taken over its place as number one in Imo .(Orlu wu Eze)
Earlier in his Speech, the Chairman of Orlu Elders Council and one of the pioneer members of Orlu Zurumee, Prof Francis Dike urged the new executive to leave no stone unturned in restoring the dignity of the Association adding that the Organization was found to carter for the people of Orlu Zone in all ramifications.
Describing the new President General as a man of impeccable character, he charged the executive members to rally round him and provide him with needed support.
In their separate speeches, the former Vice Chancellors of Imo State University, Prof Okonkwo and Prof Awuzie thanked the members of Orlu Zurumee for not only coming out enmasee to Participate in the election but ensuring that the election went smoothly .
They however charged the new Executive to eschew any act that would split the Association again.
In his speech, the Vice President General of the Organization, Prof Protus Uzorma expressed gratitude to Orlu people for founding them worthy to champion the affairs of the Organization.
Prof Uzorma who promised to bring his ingenuity to bear in the new assigned duty however said that the new Executive would live upto the expectations.
Those present at the event included, HRH, Eze Jude Obidiegwu, Former PDP Secretary, Dammian Ezeagu amongst others.
