There seems to be excitement among some African women with the behaviours and dress codes of most women of European and American descent.
To some women of African descent, the manners, dress codes and behaviours of women from outside Africa are so fascinating to be imitated and adopted. These include their dress codes, attitude to men, especially to their husbands and independence.
Those too disposed to copying these lifestyles are students and working class women of various backgrounds. This is as a result of access to electronic gadgets, western education and other opportunities associated with external cultural interactions with the Western world.
It is morally instructive to let everyone know that what is touted as civilized life of some white people, including their women are wayward and primitive life styles.
From the pages of pornographic books, journals , telephone, computer and international travels, some African girls and women have been privileged to interact with their counterparts in the western world, unhindered. This becomes more prominent among ladies that have traveled to the western world for either education, work or business.
These women brazenly display wayward dress codes and nauseating behaviours in their imitation of their western counterparts without recourse to African norms and culture, without recourse to religious teachings and early family standards.
Some free women with feminist orientation are very loud in propagating notions and standards that threaten family life, respect for men as heads of homes. They do this shamelessly with a feeling of bravado only to mislead the innocent ones. It is nothing short of ignorance to see or hear this class of women dissipate energy and resources to promote teachings that query the authority of men in marriage.
In their dressing, they wear seductive clothes which are alien to traditional African dress codes. They eat, drink and act irresponsibly in demonstration of primitive western behaviours and nuances of street women of Europe and America. Some of them smoke and drink the same way with irresponsible men without in the least evaluating the moral and spiritual destruction that come with such behaviours.
If the truth must be told, some of the women in Europe and America who some African girls and women see as role models are agents of destruction, who are inspired by marine spirit to corrupt the good morals of African women.
Some of these white women are morally disoriented that they resist everything that promotes the sanctity of marriage, the leadership of the man in the home. They see correction from their husbands as chauvinism. At the slightest provocation they call for the dissolution of their marriage, because a secular constitution guaranteed them such immoral liberty. Today the African woman is caught in the same web of cultural barbarism, by imitating every move of street women of Europe and America.
Unfortunately, these African women fail to pause to ask why Asian women, especially Indian women do not imitate the dressing and manners of white women, even when most of them are better educated, far more socially and intellectually exposed than such African women.
African women who are either in the United States of America or Europe are fast overdoing their white counterparts by challenging their husbands at the slightest provocation, driven mostly by what they will benefit from alimony. It is sad that a girl picked from rural Africa by a man who toiled nights and days to do various odd jobs in Europe and America would resort to questioning the authority of her husband, because she suddenly found her self in a foreign country.
It is uncivilized, unchristian and inhuman for an African woman to pay her husband with ingratitude by imitating the approach of her white counterparts, especially when such a husband has been very responsible. Although it was not my intention to dwell on this aspect, but what some African women do to their husbands is quite regrettable. To accept a man’s marriage proposal with the hidden intention to abandon him immediately you arrived Europe or America is a sin, especially when the man did not hide his true colours, source of income and health status before marriage.
Generally speaking, the way African women are copying the lifestyles of white women, speaks of moral and intellectual degradation. The case of the strict cultural respect of the Indian woman for her husband and family while in the United States and elsewhere calls to query the reasonableness of such African women who run culturally mad in imitating the primitive exposure of some street women of European and American descent.
Today, our women and men are running berserk in their dress codes and sexual orientations, imitating western madness, forgetting the warning of the Bible against a woman wearing what pertains to the man and vice versa. It is maddening that our men and women are embracing pervert sexual orientations of some primitive whites, forgetting the Biblical warning to run away from pervert sexual activities for which Sodom and Gomorah were destroyed. Masturbation, use of sex toys like vibrators are all sins, which African people should not copy from the white world.
African women should respect the dictates of marriage by respecting their husbands and the men doing their own beat by loving their wives and keep marriage a holy union pleasing unto God.
Young African women should aspire to be responsible wives and mothers by subscribing to the elevated virtues of marriage. Celebrities should not be seen as role models. Some of them are primitive to be emulated. Moral codes of a people must be respected. God must be obeyed. Education, power and money constitute vanities if not used to serve God. We recall what the wiset and richest man that ever lived, Solomon said in Ecclesiastes chapter 12 vs 13–14.
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing whether it is good or evil.”
We in Africa need to understand that even though white people have done well in science, technology and politics it is not everything they do should be copied. As for those copying American lifestyles, today’s United States of America is not the same as the days when Philadelphia was the capital, when the ten commandments were displayeded on the walls of the state house of Philadelphia, when the Puritans spearheaded the evangelization of America, influenced the Constitution of America which led to the statements,* God’s Own Country and In God We Trust.
America is still great no doubt. Their forefathers detested some of the things they are doing today. So we must be guided.
