One of the known Philanthropists in South East and Imo in particular, Prince Alex Mbata has again empowered over Five Thousand Women in Owerri Zone. This is even as he attributed reasons for the series of empowerments to various groups and humans as part of fulfillment of his promise to God. Prince Mbata had at various occasions, empowered people across Nigeria. While some had Scholarships under his Prince Alex Mbata ( PAM) foundation to go to University, others were given jobs , many were trained in various Skills. In a remarkable demonstration of philanthropy, Dr. Prince Alex Mbata on Wednesday distributed palliatives to thousands of women from Owerri Zone, continuing his longstanding commitment to empowering the less privileged.
The initiative, which began years ago, is part of his broader efforts to uplift indigent women across and beyond Owerri Zone.
Over 5,000 women from the nine local government areas of Owerri Zone—Ezinihitte Mbaise, Ahiazu Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise, Owerri Municipal, Owerri North, Owerri West, Mbaitoli, Ikeduru, and Ngor Okpala—gathered at Dr. Mbata’s country home in Ngwoma Obube, Owerri North, to receive the palliatives.
Items distributed included more than 5,000 bags of rice and 10,000 cartons of noodles, providing timely relief to the women, many of whom expressed gratitude and described the gesture as life-changing.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mbata reaffirmed his dedication to supporting the less privileged, stating that the initiative was a fulfillment of a personal vow to God.
He emphasized that his philanthropy is not politically motivated, as he has been engaged in similar activities long before his entry into politics.
“Empowering and assisting people has always been part of me. This is not about politics; it’s about giving back to society,” he said.
Prince Dr. Lemmy Akakem, an elder statesman and APC leader in Owerri Zone, commended Dr Mbata’s consistent humanitarian efforts.
Describing him as a national hero, Akakem highlighted Mbata’s longstanding commitment to service.to humanity and urged him to continue his impactful work.
“Prince Dr Alex Mbata is a kind-hearted man whose unmatched dedication to humanitarian efforts has earned him respect nationwide,” Akakem stated.
The event saw an outpouring of gratitude from beneficiaries.
Madam Easter Ukaigwe from Aboh Mbaise described Mbata as “God-sent,” recalling his numerous past interventions, while Mrs. Nneka Amadi from Ngor Okpala prayed for God’s blessings on him, noting that his efforts have brought hope to countless families.
Mrs. Evelyn Kamalu from Ikeduru LGA added that Mbata’s compassion and generosity inspire others, describing him as a rare gem whose contributions transcend politics.
The gathering attracted prominent APC chieftains, including Owerri Zone APC Chairman Justus Ogu, Zonal Woman Leader Mrs Chika Ohakwe, and the nine local government chairmen and secretaries.of the party in Owerri Zone.
Members of the State Working Committee of the party led by Hon. Justus Ogu, Vice Chairman, Owerri Zone, State Publicity Secretary Cajethan Duke, and other notable figures such as Prince Evans Anozie and legal practitioner, Barr. Dan Iwuorie were also in attendance.
Among the dignitaries present was Hon. Henry Agbasonu, a member of the Imo State House of Assembly representing Ahiazu Mbaise, who praised Dr. Mbata’s consistent dedication to humanity.
Mbata, who was the 2023 Owerri Zone senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has continued to demonstrate his commitment to improving lives for the vulnerable across the zone
