Saturday August 31 may have come and gone but it’s memories would remain green in the annals of the soil in Isu Local Government as a day the popular and non Governmental Organization” One Skill Charity Foundation” empowered One hundred and eighty students in various skills, particularly in Aluminum fabrication and Bakery.
The event which had in attendance people from different walks of life had the beneficiaries empowered with implements to get into their new jobs.
Addressing the graduands, the sponsors of the program, Mr and Mrs Ben Uzoagba however expressed gratitude to the Graduands for dedicating their time throughout the period of learning adding that with the skills acquired as well as the Certificates issued to them , hunger and unemployment are gone forever.
Uzoagba who was represented at the occasion by Chief Declan Anaele admonished the graduands to count themselves fortunate to have finished the program while highlighting the importance of the program.
Describing Nigeria as place where the number of the unemployed persons outweigh the available jobs, Uzoagba revealed that the only available jobs in Nigeria are skill jobs like the ones they have learnt.
Aside Nigeria, Ben Uzoagba, a Canadian based business Man revealed that in the Western World such as in Canada,United States, people with skills make more money than those working in factories and other places pointing out that any of the beneficiaries of the program that founds his or herself abroad will make it easier than those engaged in White colar jobs.
Elated with the skills acquired as well as the Certificates, one of the beneficiaries ,Miss Maryjane-Ikwumezie who learnt how to bake cake amongst Others thanked the sponsors for the opportunity pointing out that with the skills acquired, she can now comfortably take care of herself.
The said Jane, an undergraduate of the prestigious Imo State University Owerri however urged her colleagues to waste no time in putting into practice the acquired skills by way of production while praying to God to sustain the sponsor Ben Uzoagba and his family.
In her submission, one of the Guests, Mrs Herieta ———– nee Uzoagba expressed gratitude to the sponsors for giving hopes and jobs to the jobless youths through the intermittently done program.
She further admonished the graduands to use their skills positively to impact in the society.
It would be recalled that the One Skill Charity Foundation founded by Mr Ben Uzoagba and Mrs Sarah Uzoagba has been empowering youths, Men and Women in various skills in Amandugba, Umundugba amongst other Communities in Isu Local Government since
20112.
While some of the beneficiaries have become masters in their various jobs, the Foundation keeps introducing new skills and empowering the new ones.
Some of the beneficiaries include, Ikwumezie Maryjane, Okoro Florence, Iwuala Bridget, Ibe Stella amongst Others.
