As 70 Workers Lose Jobs.
The Law Firm of Chukwuma-Machukwu- Ume, SAN & co. The Firm has petitioned a former APC presidential Aspirant,
Barr. Uju Ken Ohaneye over what they described as forceful & illegal demolition of a Paint Manufacturing Factory against pendency of the matter before Courts of competent jurisdiction.
In the petition, on behalf of the destroyed Legacy paint Industry, the Firm however wondered how a Lawyer who ordinarily supposed to defend as well as obey the rules of the Court resorted to jungle justice or self- help by sponsoring Thugs led by the APC youth leader, Ezinwa A.A to demolish the said Paint Factory when the matter is pending in different Courts.
The Counsel to Legacy Paints, whose premises at Plot M4 Cattle Lairage, in Emene, Enugu State was on December 22 pulled down by thugs expected to be working for the said Ohanenye, has petitioned the APC as a political party, over the matter.
The Firm had In a letter dated December 23, 2022, and addressed to the National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and the party’s presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, as well as the Nigeria Police to arrest the culprits of the demolition.
According to Legacy Paints Ltd, it was granted certificate of occupancy on the land in Enugu State to construct the ultra-modern chemical industry in line with federal government policy to boost the country’s industrial sector.
“The factory which has over 70 workers has been operational since until the 22nd of December, 2022,” he said.
“What your erstwhile party presidential aspirant brandished before these security agencies is to bully them to give her cover to her impunity touting that she will soon come into the mainstream of power having conceded her candidature to the party presidential candidate, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, who in her words, is slated to come into power on May 29, 2023, the petition reads in part.
The Senior Advocate who described the demolition as flagrant disobedience to the rules of Court by a Lawyer revealed that the said matter is pending in the following courts” Appeal No. CA/E/90/2021 between Dezern Nigeria Ltd and Kenuj Investment Ltd and 2 ors; High Court Enugu suit No. E/881/2021 between Dezern Nigeria Ltd &Anor vs Kenuj Investment Ltd; Suit No. E/3A/2021 between Dezern Nigeria Ltd vs Uju Ken Ohanenye; Suit N. E/52M/2021 between Legacy Paints Ltd v Uju Ken Ohanenye & Ors; and FCT High Court Suit No. FCT/HC/2389/2021 between Dezern Nigeria Ltd v Uju Ken Ohaneye & Ors.
