Persons in Uzoubi Umuna Autonomous Community has formed what they described as new face of Uzoubi Umuna. This is even as they dissolved the Nwaku Led Town Union , accusing him of leadership failure. In a pres release signed by the group and made available to Lead Express, the new group was directed to conduct election of the town Union,on or before Easter. The release states”A Group Of Uzoubi-Umuna Citizens At Home And Abroad Has Announced The Formation Of A Body Called NEW FACE OF UZOUBI-UMUNA MOVEMENT
The Group On Tuesday, 18th Of February, 2025 At The Ihu Uduora Market Square In Uzoubi-Umuna Also Announced The Official Dissolution Of The Ikechukwu Nwaku’s Led Town Union Administration, Stating That His Tenure Had Long Expired.
The Group Expressed Worries On The Persistent Uses Of Non-Existent Court Cases As Excuse For The Failure Of The Nwaku-led Administration, And Even Expressed Shocks That The Administration Personally Elongated And Gave Itself Another Four Years In Office Without Any Convention In More Than Two Years Running.
The Group Nominated Comrade Greg GOC NWADIKE As The Electoral Chairman To Help The Community Conduct Its General Election And Also Organize A Convention on or before Easter in April 2025.
The Group Also Cautioned The Traditional Leadership Of The Community To Desist From Actions Capable Of Causing Rifts In Their Community, As according To Them, The Traditional Institution Should Not Be Interfering Unduly In Affairs Of The Town Union.
The Group Advised Trouble Makers To Rethink, While Warning Uzoubians, Orlu People, Government Agencies And The General Public To Avoid Further Businesses Concerning The Community With MR. IKECHUKWU NWAKU And His Expired Exco, As Any Such Business Shall Be Considered Non And Void.
At The Group’s Press Conference Were Representive MAAZI OKWUDILI AMADI; A Diasporan Who Read Their Speech, And Ten Other Members Among Whom Were CHIEF CHARLES NNADI, COMRADE IKECHUKWU BOB IHEDIOHA (EBENATOR), MAAZI CARLISTUS EDEDE OLUOMA (EBENATOR), MAAZI ANTHONY OKORIE (AMAORJI), HON. COUNCILOR CHI OKORIE (AMAORJI), MAAZI IYKE UKAIGWE (UMUSASA) And MAAZI CHIMA DIM (AMAORJI).
The Group Stated That Their Intent Was To Reclaim Their Community From Poor And Visionless Leadership, While Calling On All Uzoubi-Umuna Sons Home And Abroad To Join Them In The Struggles To Move Their Community Forward.”
