Anokam’s Son Weds Heartthrob Traditionally

A well known Estate Survey, Chief Sam Anokam’s second son, Mr. Chibuzor Anokam on Saturday 21st December, 2024 wedded his heartthrob, Nnenna Olivia Esomonu in grand style at Nkwere Local Government Area of Imo State. 

The young Anokam hails from Umuchima village in Ihiagwa ancient kingdom of Owerri west LGA of Imo State while the wife is from Umuoke village in Owerre Nkworji, Nkwere Local Government and the father is a popular retired banker, Chief Dr Chris Esomonu.

The traditional marriage ceremony which saw the gathering of who is who in Imo state especially political leaders, captains of industries, technocrats and men from different walks of life who made the occasion colorful. 

In his opening remarks, the  chairman of the epoch making event, Chief Athan Ogu, described traditional  marriage as an integral part of Igbo tradition.

He commended the parents of the  bride and groom for raising responsible children with wholesome fear of God, praying God to grant them peace, harmony and conviviality in their matrimony.

In the same vein, parents of the bride and groom took turns to shower parental blessings on their children as they committed the union into the   safe hands of the Almighty God.

Earlier on, a cousin to the bride, Hon Chigozie Esomonu, thanked God for the day, describing the marriage as a divine arrangement for the couple.

He advised the new couple to continue to trust and obey God for more blessings,  guidance and protection.

Furthermore, Nze Luke Anele ( Ihie oma eji ama atu) the Lord Chancellor of Owerre Nkworji wished the couple a happy and blissful marriage

Expressing his heart felt joy, the first son of Chief Sam Anokam and the heir apparent to the Anokam’s dynasty, Obinna Anokam, advised the couple to exhibit mutual respect, love and regards for each other for a happy and harmonious marriage.

High point of  the ceremony was cutting of the traditional wedding cake by the new couple to signify solidarity, unity, peace, love and harmony.
