Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has said that the victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate in the just concluded Edo State governorship election has shown the confidence Nigerians have in the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
Akpabio stated this while addressing the press on Sunday after the Independent INEC, declared Monday Okpebholo of the APC winner of the election.

“I strongly believe that the election in Edo, though tense at the beginning, is a reflection of the confidence that Nigerians continue to express in President Tinubu,” Akpabio said.
INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, officially announced Okpebholo winner of the election.
Okpebholo, according to INEC, garnered 291,667 votes to beat Ighodalo and Akpata with 247,274 and 18,737 votes, respectively.
