Immediate past Senior Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Social Development and Humanitarian Services, Hon. Princess Calista Anene (Adatugo Oguta LGA), has urged the Governor to appoint persons with rich ideas that will add significantly to the improvement of revenue generation in the state.

She stated that when there is enough money in the state, development would be strengthened and living will be more enticing, sweet and improved on, hinting that Hope Uzodimma is a visionary and patriotic leader who has really, amazingly turned Imo around in his first tenure.

In an interview with journalists at her residence in Owerri, Anene, a patriotic citizen of Imo State, pointed out that Imo has huge resources untapped, hence she requested the Governor to evenly work with people who can help him to tap the untapped resources in the state to be able to generate plenty revenue for the state, saying Oguta LGA is a tourism destination which is waiting to be harnessed by the government and private investors so that the world would bring money to Imo State constantly.

“I want the Governor to focus on revenue generation. Because with enough resources, development would be strengthened. To achieve huge resources, His Excellency should appoint, surround himself with people who have rich ideas who are ready to make selfless sacrifice. The era of waiting for government for everything is over. Yes, Imo people want individuals with right ideas to harness resources to move the state forward.

“There is need to tap the hiding resources in Imo State. In Oguta, there is natural resources for potential tourist centers that will attract the world to even socialize and generate revenue, create employment, attract investors and Imo people will benefit handsomely from the huge resources generated and poverty, hunger, suffering, insecurity, crime and violence would reduce minimally”, Anene maintained.

Anene, who said she was happy to serve under the 3R Mantra on the capacity as SSA to the Governor on Social Development and Humanitarian Services, an appointment which came due to her belief on lifting humanity, outlined that the Governor had, through the office, empowered some youths and women especially on Skill Acquisition Training, Evacuational Training (of some Oguta youths), on CCTV Camera Installation, remarking that her office and that of Humanitarian Affairs did their best to empower youths and women positively.

“About 26 Imo graduates were assisted to become gainfully empowered. Through the office, I created a Resource Centre where undergraduates can come, prepare their CVs, Resumes, prepare them on Job Interviews, on Readiness to face the world, as well as market themselves, to become fully employed in different fields and organizations. I have spoken with many organizations about helping and linking youths with jobs. I visited and held meetings with Oil Companies on employing Imo youths because many of them are qualified to work in the multinationals”, Anene added.

While scoring the Governor 99% on performance especially on infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, the Canadian based philanthropist, politician and technocrat, vowed that she would continue to help the Governor to redeem the state socially and economically, even as she enjoined Imolites to join hands with the APC Government to advance goodness and comfort.

Anene, who is an illustrious daughter of Oguta Amaeshi in Oguta LGA, promised that she would stop at nothing to intensify humanitarian services to humanity especially in Oguta enclave through her charity foundation.

While praying and wishing the Governor well as he drives Imo people smoothly to the Promised Land, Princess Calista Anene affirmed that she is always prepared, ready and proud to work with amiable Governor Hope Uzodimma with a view to edifying Imo State to the advantage of all persons irrespective of class, influence and affluence for enhanced peace and conviviality.
