Former Senators Ben Murray-Bruce, has asked President Bola Tinubu to ban government appointees and officials from international travels for one year.
Bruce went ahead to suggest that all international meetings should be conducted via Zoom, and that President Tinubu could only grant special approval for international travels for matters critical to the national interest.
The Silverbird Group founder, added that the President’s executive order should not be applied to external affairs, finance and national security, noting that when international travel was authorized, officials must meet with Nigerian airlines unless there was no available service on that route, a8dding that the international travel ban should apply to the entire federal cabinet, all heads of agencies and all civil servants.
According to Bruce; “President Bola Tinubu, @officialABAT, should issue an executive order to halt all international travel for one year for everyone in the federal government unless he grants special approval for matters critical to national interest.
“This rule would not apply to External Affairs, Finance, and National Security. When international travel is authorised, officials must fly with Nigerian airlines unless there’s no available service on that route.
“This International travel ban should apply to the entire Federal Cabinet, all heads of agencies, and all civil servants. All international meetings should be conducted over Zoom.”
