: Cautions Against Dissolution Of Eze Imo Council.
One of the Chieftans of the APC in Imo and Isu LGA in particular, Hon Uju Okoro has called on Owerri and Okigwe Zones to advise their sons , Senator Nnaemeka Anyanwu and Senator Athan Achonu to withdraw their suits, challenging the declaration of Governor Uzodinma as the winner of the 2023 Governorship election by INEC.
This is even as he cautioned those calling for the dissolution of Imo Council of Traditional Rulers led by HRH,Eze Okeke to stop, stressing that it is the prerogative of Governor Uzodinma to decide when to appoint and when to dissolve the Institution.
Okoro who disclosed this to Lead in Owerri yesterday April 23 wondered why both the Owerri and Okigwe Zones would be fighting for the successor of Uzodinma, with a caveat that no Orlu person should contemplate to participate in the next Guber election even when the duo did not only field two popular candidates in the two major opposition parties in the 2023 Governorship election but headed to Court, praying for both cancellation and declaration as a winner.
Uju Okoro who queried the rationale behind the said charter of equity when the other two sister zones participated in the election said to be the turn of Orlu Zone in 2023 urged the pioneers of the movement to have a rethink.
Okoro,a former Local Government Chairman of Isu however made it clear that he who goes to equity must go with clean hands urged the Owerri and Okigwe Zones to call their Sons to withdraw their suits against Uzodinma before they rely on the gains and principles behind the formation of charter of equity.
Recall that Okigwe and Owerri Zones have been on war of words over which zone should succeed Uzodinma in 2027.
