Construction of old Owerri/Orlu road: indigenes cry to govt

Residents of Umudioka,Umuowa , Owerri Ebeiri and Umuna Autonomous Communities have called on the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma to call to order, the Contractors handling the popular Owerri Road in Orlu LGA to avoid wastage of State resources by given the People substandard Road.

Uzodinma led administration has awarded the said popular road for reconstruction after being abandoned by the Okorocha led administration.
Investigations carried out by Lead revealed that starting from the popular Menacord Hotels in Owerri Ebeiri down to Umuna, the contractors after exhausting the well constructed slabs put in place bybIhedioha led administration for the drainages have begun to use ordinary cement for the drainage ,an exercise described as poor and bad construction by experts.
Speaking to Lead Express,an Indigene of Umuowa who gave his name as Chief Sabastine Ukwuoma described as uncalled for, the use of substandard materials in the construction of the drainages pointing out that any road without good drainage system is bound to collapse.
He however appealed to the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma to call to order, the Autograph construction company before the situation gets out of hand.
Speaking to Lead , another man who gave his name as Chief Dim Chukwuemeka who also hails from the Umuowa Autonomous Community called on the State Government not to allow contractors destroy the legacies his administration is putting in place infrastructure wise adding that it would amount to mockery if after spending billions of naira on road construction, it will not stand the test of time.
Reacting to the allegations, one of the workers of the company met at the site by our Reporter refused talking to the Lead.
The worker who refused to unveil his name to our reporter said he was not the spokesman of the Autograph construction company.
