In a bid to cushion the economic hardship currently ravaging the state and country at large, the Chairman of Southern Youths Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Barr. Oluchukwu Green Nnabugwu has appealed to State governors especially His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodimma
to fashion out policies as well as provide palliative measures that will help alleviate the sufferings of the masses.

This is even coming as he also advised parents especially mothers to re- inculcate the culture of hardwork and perseverance on their children, as it is the major key to success.

Speaking while receiving a Merit Award from the Mothers of Anglican church of Pentecost, world Bank Owerri, he reiterated that a land where there is hunger will stir up all forms of criminalities, reiterating that a hungry man is the devil’s workshop. .

Barr. Nnabugwu who is also the convener of Imo Christian Youth Peace imitative, (ICYPI) further called on Imo youths not to resort to violence or any form of criminality in this economic hardship rather be law-abiding and embrace peace which is a prerequisite for a progressive government.

In his words” Is no longer news that there is hunger in the land. Residents of Nigeria can feel the hike in food prices, increase in fuel prices, increase in cooking gas as well as the rise in dollar rate. We are all suffering it. Don’t forget that a hungry man is and angry man and this has led to so many criminal activities. Some school of thought will say , it’s better I go out to hustle for food anyhow rather than die of hunger. In all, I appealed that as Christian Youths, we must be law abiding even as I plead to Gov. Hope Uzodimma to fashion out measures that will help cushion the plights of Imo people”.
