In a recent meeting with various leaders in Orlu LGA of Imo State, Engineer Egbedike Ikechukwu Augustine, the APC Local Government election hopeful for the Orlu chairmanship election, shared his vision for the future of Orlu, if elected as the council chairman.
He expressed his aim to become the next Orlu local government chairman and his commitment to working hand in gloves with the present government to contributte his own quota towards achieving the 3Rs mantra of Senator Hope Uzodimma in his second term.
Addressing the leaders, Engineer Egbedike Augustine assured the leaders that he has the capacity to make Orlu better through infrastructural development.
” I have come to liberate Orlu and to change the narratives, as it is today, Orlu LGA needs a honest and clean leader like me that will drive development and bring government to the grassroot” He affirmed.
Egbedike expressed his determination to address the issue of insecurity in Orlu by collaborating with various state leaders, including Governor Hope Uzodinma and other leaders especially those in state and national assembly.
Addressing the gathering was Hon. Stanley Nwosu, the Chairman of APC Orlu LGA, who extended a warm welcome and articulated the purpose of their presence to be, to listen to a fellow son who had summoned them. Familiarly known as Ochinanwata, he emphasized that no candidate had received an endorsement for the council election. He emphasized that Engineer Egbedike Augustine was among those expressing interest in contesting, awaiting the official election date set by the Imo state government.
Nevertheless, leaders were granted the opportunity to contribute their insights to the meeting’s agenda. Noteworthy among the speakers was Hon. Anthony Okonkwo, widely known as “Mentality Change,” the former Commissioner of Religion Affairs in Imo state. He conveyed a message emphasizing that politics should be a platform for fostering love, encouraging everyone to collaborate for the betterment of the community. Mentality Change directed his advice towards Engineer Egbedike Augustine, the aspiring candidate for the Orlu chairmanship election. He urged Augustine to focus on enhancement if elected as the next Orlu local government chairman, cautioning against engaging in the politics of animosity and steering clear of the divisive tactics prevalent in contemporary politics.
Chief Azubuike Nnajiuba, affectionately known as General Nato, a distinguished figure in Orlu LGA, asserted that their fellow son possesses the capabilities to elevate Orlu to greatness once more. Expressing unwavering confidence, he stated, “Engr. Egbedike has the potential to bring positive transformation to Orlu LGA.” The climax of his address included a plea to the leaders in attendance, urging them to rally behind their fellow brother for the collective well-being of the community.
Various leaders shared their apprehensions and visions for Orlu’s future, with Honorable Akidi Chris Tobechukwu expressing gratitude for the attendees and optimism regarding positive transformations in the Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.
Present at the occasion were notable figures, including the APC Woman Leader for Imo State, Hon. Mrs. Ifeoma Ndukwu, the three area development coordinators from Orlu LGA, ward party chairmen, women leaders of the party and other significant statutory LGA leaders.
