An illustrious son of Alike community in Obowo Local Government Area, Chief Nnaemeka Ekeigwe (Chief Akukaria 1 of Obowo) has been inducted into Hefty Men Social Club of Nigeria in recognition and furtherance of his relentless efforts towards development of society and humanity.
Chief Ekeigwe was inducted into the club on the occasion of induction of new members cum inauguration of Board of Trustees, BOT members of the club which took place last Sunday at Hispacon Field, Egbu Road, Owerri.
In an interview with newsmen shortly after his induction, he maintained that the club was motivated to receive him because he has been rendering humanitarian services to mankind and has assisted many communities in executing their projects.
According to him, “I am impressed. I will continue with what I am doing. I will take the club to a higher level. I have done a lot to assist the indigent and needy in communities. I have done a lot.
I have been deeply involved in human capital development by engaging youths to be responsible in life as well as reducing the high rate of unemployment in the country”
He thanked the president, Mr Onyewuchi Anyanwu (Oma) and members of the club for finding him worthy of being inducted into the club, expressing delight on the honour done him.
According to Chief Ekeigwe also, “I will not relent, I will multiply my efforts, put in more energy to what I have been doing. Since Hefty Men Social Club of Nigeria is a service oriented club, I will continue to uphold humanitarianism.
To whom much is given, much is expected. I assure this club that this induction is going to spur me for more and harder work and services to God and humanity to make society a better place to live in”.
He identified Hefty Men Social Club of Nigeria as a registered social club comprising men of means and substance, with the primary aim of fostering brotherhood, through humanitarian services and total eradication of moral decadence among its members, a prestigious, a noble club and a viable club which recognizes steady develpment, innovations,, inventions, discoveries and struggle for self determination and association.
Chief Ekeigwe enjoined the members of the club to be steadfast and committed to their objectives, wake up and realize what is needed in communities where where they belong, continue to do good works and be role models, appealing to the members of the club also, not to relent in rendering selfless services to make society a better place to live in
