The senator representing Orlu zone in the Senate, Sen Osita Izunaso has been identified as a round peg specially fitted in a round hole.
The immediate past coordinator, Nkwerre West Development Centre, Hon High Chief Michael Onyema Esiwe stated this in an interview with newsmen on the occasion of the Town Hall meeting with constituents organized by the Sen Izunaso last Saturday held at Nkwerre Country Club in Nkwerre Local Government Area.
He disclosed that Sen Izunaso has connection locally, nationally and internationally which has given him an edge over his counterparts, adding that this is exactly what the people of Orlu zone are expecting from him because according to High Chief Esiwe, the senator knows the challenges of the people and how to tackle them.
The former Development Centre coordinator also described Sen Izunaso as a man with high intellectual power who knows the problems of the zone and solution to their problems, pointing out that a senator being a ranking member in the Senate and from the ruling party at the national level is a very big advantage to the zone.
He extolled Sen Izunaso for his giant strides in the Senate and relentless efforts at initiating bills and motions that affect the lives of the people positively.and expressed delight in the quality of representation which Sen Izunaso is giving to the people of the zone.
High Chief Esiwe revealed that the senator has done so well that Imo State is seen as the state with the highest deposit of gas in Africa courtesy of him when he was the Chairman, Senate Committee on Gas during his first tenure in the Senate and today, Imo is recognized.
He also enumerated other achievements made by the senator to include championing and facilitating the Senate movement in the creation of Orlu state, commencement of Senator Izunaso Artificial intelligence, empowering thousands of youths in Orlu zone, empowering women, youths and well wishers with interest free loans, sponsoring of a bill on establishment of a federal higher institution in Orlu zone and maintaining cordial relationship between the federal government and the state government among others.
He maintained that the reward for good work is more work and enjoined him to continue with his people-oriented and developmental projects in the zone in the best interest of his constituents and assured him of maximum support and cooperation High Chief Esiwe also lauded Sen Izunaso for deeming it necessary to remember his people, pointing out that some lawmakers may receive from the federal government but will not bring it out for the people they are representing and appealed to him not to be distracted.
He noted that Sen Izunaso’s gestures and his Kpakpandu Foundation have helped the less privileged, widows and the disabled, adding that if other past lawmakers did the same, people’s lives would have been enhanced and the sufferings of the downtrodden would have reduced.
The former coordinator disclosed that the lawmaker’s gesture is part of the measures to cushion the effects of economic crisis in the zone and appreciated the governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma for his relentless efforts at fighting insecurity head-on which made the gathering possible and a huge success and solicited the support of the people of the zone to his administration.
