Peace appears to have returned in Orlu APC following the timely intervention of the Party’s apex leader, Chief CaniceMore Nwachukwu, Member representing Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The Orlu chapter of the APC has been in loggerheads following the allegations and counter allegations amongst the leaders of the Party in over funds.
Addressing the leaders as well as the members of the Party in a meeting held yesterday, Thursday August 8 at the Local Government Headquarters,CaniceMore Nwachukwu popularly known and addressed as Omeogo appealed to all the warring camps to shealth their sword adding that APC should be viewed and seen with the lens which our Apex leader, Senator Hope Uzodinma sees it from and that according to him remains unity.
Omeogo who was represented at the occasion by Hon Magnus Nnadi however used the Medium to thank the people of Isu Clan for chosen the part of peace and progress by ensuring that only Orsu Clan Aspirants declared interest in the forthcoming Local Government election in the State.
Describing their resolution as noble, Omeogo made it c tolear that such a decision has not only saved our People unnecessary expenses but has also saved us political unrest cum crises .
Earlier in his speech, the Member representing Orlu State Constituency in Imo House of Assembly, Barr Ikenna Ihezuo apologized to the leaders over what he described as his actions and inactions Within one year in the office.
He however announced to give the party the sum of eight hundred thousand as part of the logistics meant for the members during the 2023 elections.
Out of the said money, five hundred thousand would be used to settle some of the Wards in Orsu Clan which include, Ohafor Okporo, Ebenese Umuezennachi, Ihitte Owerre, Obibi amongst Others while the remaining would be given to the party’s leadership.
Although the Party apex leader, Omeogo had earlier harped on the unity of the party but there appeared to be some level of internal acrimony and side talks after the meeting.
Speaking to Lead Express after the event,one of the leaders of the party in the area who chose to speak on the guise of anonymity hinted Lead that no peace had been made.
According to the speaker, Ihezuo was instructed by the leadership of the party to pay One Million two hundred thousand but he Ihezuo brought Eight hundred thousand.
He further pointed out that until the said Ihezuo completes the money as agreed, the peace would not work.
