: Ogunewe, Others Set For Decamp
Ahead of November 11 Governorship election in Imo, the presidential candidate of Labour party, Peter Obi has after wading into the crises emanating from the Guber Primaries of the Labour party in Imo, urged the aggrieved members to sheath their sword and work with Senator Athan Achonu who hitherto was declared winner of Primaries held in Imo last month.
Information to Lead revealed that Peter Obi after meeting with the aggrieved Guber Aspirants cum other party leaders in Imo last Sunday pleaded with them to consider and work with Achonu in order not to compound the crises rocking the Party, particularly at the national adding that the Party does not need any kind of disintegration or distraction as election is around the corner.
Imo State chapter of Labour party has been in serious crises since the conduct of the Party’s Governorship primaries wherein, Athan Achonu was declared winner.
Meanwhile, a source from the Retired Army General’s camp, Ogunewe who was declared second by the officials of INEC that monitored the polls hinted Lead that every arrangement has been concluded by the said general and his teeming supporters to dump Labour party for another political party.
The source which for security reasons did not reveal the new Political party at the time of filing this report made it clear that the burning desire in the heart of their principal to save Imo from Mal administration would not be terminated hence the dumping of the Labour Party.
