Security Expert, John Nzeobi (AIG Rtrd) has reiterated the readiness of the Nigeria security agencies to apprehend all fleeing leaders of the dreaded Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to face crime committed against humanity and the state.
The Security Expert was reacting to news of alleged escape of kingpins of the outlawed group who terrorize the Southeast geo-political zone of Nigeria comprising of Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Imo states and its environs.
Report has it that the banished group had allegedly killed over 1, 000 security operatives during an exchange of fire and show of supremacy while trying to enforce freedom of the Indigenous People of Biafra through Sit at Home order every Monday in the five eastern states of Nigeria.
According to the Security Expert, Rtrd AIG Nzeobi, in as much as some of the group’s ring leaders, like, Okwudile Mmuo, and others had met their waterloo, there was need for security agencies to spread their dragnets of surveillance across board to be able to apprehend the fleeing ones.
While listing names of the alleged fleeing IPOB leaders as follows, Osayende Success Chinaemerem (pictured), Ephraim Ndukwu, and Ofili Uduma, amongst others still at large, Mr Nzeobi charged security agencies to ensure that those still hiding be arrested, interrogated and prosecuted in line with the laws of the land for committing crime against the state.
It will also be recalled that other alleged leaders of the proscribed group, Gregory Onwueyiagba, Simon Ohaenwetaonwu, Chidube Akaegusi, Chidera Highman, Nnadi Okeke, Kingsley Offor, and Ikenna Onyimadu are said to be in custody, but the retired Senior Crime officer is wondering why the courts are yet to resume their prosecution.
All efforts to reach the Imo state Police Command Spokesperson, Henry Okoye for reactions was unsuccessful as at press time.
