…Lands Ministry Cautions Buyers.
In a bid to nip in the bud,Fraudulent land transactions in Imo, the Imo State Government has through the Ministry of Lands, Survey and physical planning called on land buyers to verify the authenticity of lands from the Ministry before embarking on transactions.
This is even as the Ministry made it clear that since the inception of the present administration, no allocation of any sort has been carried out hence those transacting on the 3r layout Onitsha Road,Housing Area TM,new Owerri, Housing Area TN,new Owerri, Unity layout extension, Uratta in Owerri North, Ekwema (GRA) residential layout, Shared Prosperity layout, Portharcourt Road,Riverside Layout Orji/ Amata as well as new Community layout Okuku in Owerri West are doing that at their own peril.
In a release signed by the Commissioner for Lands, Barr Enyinna Onuegbu and made available to Lead, he called on the general public to engage not on any form of transactions in the above mentioned areas
while reinstating the readiness of the Ministry to guide people on Land transactions in Imo.
In the said release, Onuegbu further revealed that this call was on the behest of avalanche of litigations as well as police cases arising from Fraudulent land transactions in Imo.
