Unknown gunmen have again attacked the Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State where they kidnapped 30 women escorting a newly wedded bride to her home.
Information available to LEAD revealed that the bride being escorted by the women was on the way to her husband’s residence in Ungwan Murjiya in Dandume LGA between 8:30-9pm when the convoy fell prey to the armed bandits who attacked their truck and abducted all the women.
It was also revealed that the truck conductor was shot, and currently is receiving medical treatment at Damari Hospital.
The Chairman of Dandume Local Government Council, Alhaji Basiru Musa, had also confirmed that gunmen from Siddi forest near the Gazari district border in Sabuwa LGA had killed a commercial motorcycle rider, opened fire on a group of four individuals and confiscated their motorcycles.
Presently, Sabuwa and Dandume are among the local government areas being heavily tormented by bandits in Katsina State and despite the efforts of the States security, the situation seems to be worsening.
