The ongoing hardship in Nigeria which has resulted in an untold hunger appears to have increased rate crimes in Nigeria.

Various crimes ranging from kinapping, stealing amongst other vices have taken another dimension since the economic crunch. Hoodlums had last Friday attacked and looted trailer conveying cartons of spaghetti at the Dogarawa axis of the Zaria-Kano expressway.
 
The trailer which was going to Abuja from Kaduna when the thugs blocked the road and made burnfires on the highway. 
 
An eyewitness told Journalists Trust that the incident occurred around 3.15pm on Friday, March 1, after the driver of the truck parked by the roadside to observe prayer.
 
After the driver parked, the hoodlums started carting away cartons of spaghetti. The eyewitness described the incident as unfortunate and regrettable, adding that such an incident had never occurred since he began doing business in the area. 
 
According to the witness, “Not a single cartoon of the spaghetti was left by the hoodlums on the truck.” It was learnt that a police team deployed to the scene of the incident arrested five suspects.
