Ahead of Ideato House of Representatives election, group under the appellation of “Ideato Must grow” has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to live up to the peoples expectations by ensuring a free and transparent election in February 25 House of Representatives election.
Same group has also appealed with Governments, particularly the Imo State Government to ensure it has no hand or influence in any way,the forthcoming election.
In a communique signed by the members of the group and made available to Lead, the group revealed that the only way to restore peace in the troubled Ideato nation which has now become prone to insecurity is to allow the masses cum electorate to choose whoever they want as their representative in the next election .
According to the group, Ideato nation knows the individual antecedents of all the candidates and have resolved to vote in line with same hence any kind of external influence from any angle would be resisted which may escalate the security situation in the area hence the call on the constituted authorities to toe the line of peaceful and transparent election.
In the said communique, the group made it clear that Ideato nation would vote those who have helped the Community in various capacities irrespective of the political parties they belong and any attempt to influence the election would be highly resisted.
Recall that recently, the Sole Administrator of Ideato North was massacred.
In same vain,few persons were said to have lost their lives during attack in the family House of the PDP House of Representatives candidate, Ikenga Ugochinyere Imo.
