The people of Iho-Dimeze community in Ikeduru Council Area of Imo recently paid a historic visit to the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo world wide, Chief Engr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu where they presented their Eze Elect, Dr Martin Chieze Amaku(Dimeze II of Iho) to the Elder Statesman.

Presenting the Monarch designate to Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo, a chieftain of the community, Hon Sam Udeh said Dr Martin Chieze Amaku’s emergence was the choice of the entire people of Iho-Dimeze who have not had a king for about two decades now. He said Eze Elect Dr Martin Amaku is an answered prayer for Ndi Iho-Dimeze, noting however that light has already started shinning in the community since Amaku’s emergence as their Eze Elect.

Ude said their visit to Sir Engr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu was too necessary and unavoidable considering his status in Nigeria and more particularly, his current position as the world-wide President General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Hon Sam Udeh extolled the sterling leadership qualities of Iwuanyanwu in Nigeria in general and Ohanaeze Ndigbo in particular, and assured him of their support and solidarity at all times.

Responding, the Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo, Chief Engr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu CFR welcomed Eze Elect, Dr Martin Chieze Amaku and Iho-Dimeze community to his home, describing the visit as a very good one, coming at the right time.

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo world wide said Iho-Dimeze and his village in Atta are too close, as the two have always bonded together as one people right from the ancient times till date in love and mutual respect for each other.

Sir Iwuanyanwu announced to his guests that Iho-Dimeze Ezeship project remains his project because of the love he has for the community and they way and manner they have always reciprocated same over the years.

“Eze Iho project is my project, your visit today has made me more committed. Whatever you are doing regarding this project, I will be part of it. If you convene a meeting for it and I am free, I will attend such meeting. If you levy members of your community, please also levy me because I will always pay. I am part of Iho-Dimeze any time, any day. By this visit, you have shown you are intelligent people. Even beyond this Ezeship project, If you have any other problem in Iho, please let me know. Whatever you want from government, kindly inform me, I will facilitate it for you.
Take me as your son and brother. The benefit of this your visit to me today is big, I will always support you and your Eze Elect.
If you have problem with your Eze’s certificate of office, tell me, I will help get that from the government for your traditional ruler”.

The Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo and Omeremba1 of Atta who was so excited at the visit, assured he would continue to support Iho community until her glory becomes obviously manifest.

Prominent Iho-Dimeze Leaders present at the visit were the President General of Iho-Dimeze Town Union, Chief Sabinus Mgbemene, President of Iho-Dimeze Women Assembly, Lady Chioma Ubochi, Coordinator of the Village Chairmen of the 19 villages in the community Comrade John Amajuoyi, Head, Iho Council of Chiefs, Chief Geoffrey Ofonye, Elders Forum Chairman, Elder Joel Ejimadu, Youth Leaders from the 19 villages, among many others.
