Imo Assembly extols Uzodinma for restoring police, civil order in Orsu

The motion to thank the governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma for restoring police and civil order in Orsu Local Government Area and to urge him to rebuild Orsu infrastructures has been passed by the Imo State House of Assembly.
   Leading debate on the motion on the floor of the House during plenary presided over by the deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu last Thursday, the chief sponsor of the motion and member representing Orsu state constituency, Rt Hon Engr Uche Francis Agabige noted that Orsu LGA that used to be peaceful at a time was not peaceful as before, pointing out that the governor deployed much resources to ensure that Orsu comes out a peaceful area.
   Rt Hon Engr Agabige revealed that Gov. Uzodinma has directed the police to move to the area, and expressed delight that life has gradually returned to Orsu.
   He  stated that the essence of the motion was to let people know that they are realizing the promise he made during his electioneering campaign with the slogan (Peace Again) thanking the governor, the stakeholders of Orsu and Odinma Orsu for making it a reality by achieving relative peace, stressing that it cozt huge amount of money.
   The lawmaker maintained that the presence of police is a sign of peace which calls for celebration, adding that after the programme they had on  25th March, 2025, they are happy that life and activities have been restored. He however recalled that infrastructure was destroyed and there is no more government institution, health centers, schools and roads among others, pointing out that all were destroyed and urged the governor, Sen Uzodinma who has love of Imo people and Orsu at heart to come to to their rescue by rebuilding the destroyed infrastructure, stressing that if the roads are in good state, it will facilitate the return of peace and normalcy as well as the return of people to their communities. The lawmaker emphasized that that the people need rehabilitation as people coming back from war and now activities have returned but the challenge is infrastructure, according to him, Orsu needs a special intervention and appealed to the governor to direct relevant agencies to rebuild the destroyed facilities because the governor has come to rescue Orsu state constituency. Some members who spoke in support of the motion include the members for Obowo, Rt Hon Kennedy Ibeh, Ohaji Egbema, Hon Francis Uzoma Osuoha and Oru West,Hon Barr Dominic Ezerioha among others. None opposed the motion and when the deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Chyna Iwuanyanwu put it to vote, the ayes had it.
