Following a viral TikTok video posted by Miss Jennifer Kingsley, the Imo State Police Command have launched an investigation into allegations of misconduct by some of its officers.
Recall that In the video, Kingsley claims that on February 20, 2025, while taking her child to school, she and the child’s father were assaulted by unidentified police officers on patrol in Amakohia, Owerri. She also alleged that the officers extorted ₦150,000 from her during the incident.
In a release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Okoye Henry, ANIPR, he noted that the police command has reached out to the complainant, who has formally reported the case. “Investigations are now underway to identify the officers involved, with assurances that appropriate actions will be taken against those found culpable. The command has pledged to keep the public informed on the progress of the inquiry”.

Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma, the Imo State Police Command reiterated its dedication to professionalism, accountability, and public safety. The command urged anyone with relevant information to assist the investigation by reaching out to the Public Relations Department”.
“Residents are also encouraged to report cases of police misconduct, harassment, or extortion to the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) or the IGP XSquad Unit. Reports can be made via the dedicated hotline at 08148024755 for prompt action”.
