Imo Guber: “Obidients” Movement Denies Adoption Of Ogunewe, Insists on Achonu

Ahead of the November 11 Governorship election, Peter Obi political structure otherwise known as Obidients Movement has disassociated selfs from what they described as purportedt adoption of the Action Alliance Party Flag bearer, Gen. Jack Ogunewe as their candidate in the forthcoming election.
This is even as they uphold the transparent, free and fair April 15, 2023 Guber primaries of the Labour Party that saw the emergence of Dist. Sen. Athan Achonu in Imo.
In a release made available to Mid-week Lead and signed by Amb. Justin Kingland, DG, Convener NNPO, Lead Coordinator of OBIDATI Support Group and High Chief ( Sir) Chima Uzobuihe, Convener OBIDATI Support Movement, amongst others, the group reiterated that the letter dated June 22, 2023 where some Political jobbers under a fictitious group , Coalition of Obidient Movement ( Imo Chapter), adopted Gen. Jack Ogunewe as their sole Candidate in the forthcoming Governorship election was not only malicious but damaging and urged the public not to fall victim to the said deceptive letter.
” On June 19, 2023, miscreants issued a write up that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Action Alliance, (AA) Political party to share party positions of the AA and called “All Conveners and State coordinators who wish to be part of AA State, LGA And Ward party Executives structure to call the phone number 08035281611. Essentially and effectively, members of this group, which are better described as the Dis- Obidients non movement are not members of the faithful Obidents Movement Family but rather they are de facto carrying members of the Action Alliance with the old established party in Imo State”

” The Dis-obidient signatories to the desperate purported adoption/ endorsement letter are not known among the ranks and files of the Obidents Movement family both in Nigeria and diaspora. Hence they do not speak for the Obidents Movement Family whose Apex leader is H.E Peter Obi”

“Consequently, we wish to sound a strong note of warning to those in -house enemies, Igbo haters and miscreants that every part of Alagbo is home to every Igbo person …. No Igbo person is More Igbo than another Igbo person in the land of Alaigbo. It is therefore questionable whether these miscreants have any Igbo blood flowing inside their veins and arteries otherwise they would not attempt to stuck intra- ethnic hatred and discrimination within the Igbo ethic groups just in desperation to win an election inside Alaigbo”.

” We therefore urge the general public to discountenance the content of the mischievous purported letter of adoption of the Imo Guber candidate of Action Alliance with the Old Establishment party issued by these Dis-obidients”

“Finally, we want to re-emphazise the fact that the entire Obidents Movement Family are 💯 loyal, obedient, and disciplined to always follow the Apex leader H. E. Peter Obi. Hence the ranks and files of the Obidents Movement Family stand with Peter Obi behind the Imo Labour Party candidate, Dist. Sen. Athan Nneji Achonu in the November 11 2023 Governorship election. We are committed to enthrone an Obidient State Governor in Imo State under the Labour Party platform..”.
