Ahead of the November 11 Governorship election in Imo, Governor Hope Uzodimma has continued to receive overwhelming endorsement from various Local Government Areas with the latest coming from Owerri Municipal Council.
At a well attended stakeholders cum leadership meeting of APC in Owerri Municipal comprising Indigenes, Non – Indigenes, Political class, and Traditional structures of Owerri Municipal held yesterday at the Council’s headquarters, they sounded it loud and clear that their decision to join the league of men and women of Goodwill in endorsing for the governor’s reelection was based on their satisfaction with the wonderful performance of the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Moving the motion of endorsement yesterday , a former federal lawmaker and the apex leader of APC, Rt Hon Chief Ernest Ibejiako said that” after thorough deliberation and appraisal of the
performances and gains of the 3R Government of His Excellency
Senator Hope OdidikaUzodimma which includes the numerous appointments given to indigenes and Non Indigenes, total Reconstruction of Eke-UkwuOwerri Market, Reconstructions, Rehabilitations and asphalting of Municipal roads with street lights totaling forty four (44)projects completed, excluding projects earmarked for future construction, and Concessions for the indigenes of Owerri to aid expansion of future generations and generations yet unborn, resolved as that we the people of Owerri Municipal as established in paragraph (1.02) are satisfied with the performances of His
Excellency Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma first term as the
Governor of Imo State and hereby unanimously endorsed him for a second term in office as the governor of Imo state”.
The communique which was signed by the state chairman of APC, Hon MacDonald Ebere, PhD, Apex leader of APC in Owerri Municipal Council and former federal lawmaker, Rt Hon Chief Ernest Ibejiako, Hon Christian Nze(SOLAD), Dr CDB Williams, Assembly member elect, Hon Ugochukwu Obodo, APC Chairman of Owerri Municipal, Hon Onyekachi Ibeziem as well as other critical leaders and stakeholders noted that all the residents, associations, clubs, Owerri Age
Grades, women associations of both Indigenous and Non indigenous, Youth associations, NURTW Municipal branch, Civil Servants resident in Owerri Municipal, Municipal Market Associations, Artisans should rally round His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma in ensuring a smooth and successful return to office as the Governor of Imo State.
Earlier the indefatigable state Chairman of APC, Hon MacDonald Ebere, PhD, who expressed great delight at the overwhelming successes of the party at the last general elections especially the state House of Assembly that produced Hon Obodo, commended the contributions of everyone.
While receiving new defectors into their fold, the astute party Chairman informed them to see themselves as a critical stakeholders in the party and enjoined them to use their wealth of experience to contribute their quota towards the success of the party at the November governorship election.
The highpoint of the endorsement meeting was a motion moved by Ambassador Jude Agbugba which received the overwhelming endorsement of members, while the chairman of PDP chairmen in Owerri Municipal Council, Chief Ifeanyi Iwuchukwu, who led virtually all the PDP Ward chairmen in the municipality assured that Senator Hope Uzodimma will be reelected overwhelmingly based on verifiable developmental projects scattered across the state especially roads.
