Ahead of the forth coming local government election in Imo state, communities and Leaders of Njaba Local Government have called on the Executive governor of Imo state, distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma CON to restore democratic Confidence of the people by restoring the truncated mandate of their son and leader Hon Dr Eddy Chidi Ikwugbuo ( Agunechemba ) whose mandate was truncated by the 2011 – 2019 reign of an Emperor in the state.
A release by a group with the appellation, justice and fairness, group appealed to the Governor to restore the truncated tenure of their leader who according to them has empowered many youths, women within the few months he was at the Council before his tenure was illegally truncated
The group further, noted that the recent Supreme Court Judgement and attributes of one of their own with enormous grace , High Chief Dr. Eddy Ikwugbuo whose 7 months reign as elected chairman in Njaba proved positive tendencies of rural upliftments of Njaba communities .
The release elaborated giant strides and characters of Chief Dr. Eddy Chidi Ikwugbuo as a fearless , Courageous Philanthropist with a track record of administrative ingenuity .
They emphasized that the Agunechemba is a household name in Njaba and dependable apostle of the ,” 3 R ” shared Prosperity government of H/ E Distn. Senator Hope Uzodinma ( Onwa Oyoko) . They appealed to the governor to use his executive fiat and otherwise to ensure the entrenchment of grassroot democracy in Njaba by listening to the voice of reasons, Justice and Equity and Fairness is restored in Njaba.
The group pointed at structures erected by the Agunechemba amongst the two storey buildings that created ambiance and space for workers, creating anti kidnapping department by absorbing retired Military and Police officers which restored peace and tranquility in the communities.
The release went ahead to state how the Agunechemba created employment opportunities for more than 30 widows and many youths in the council. He made Njaba ajuoo- oyi ( restored peace in the communities) .
They therefore alluded that the only reason for election remains fishing for an efficient and upright leader which the man in question posees
