After assessing all the candidates and aspirants vying for the position of Executive Chairman in the Local Government Council area, the members of the Isiala Mbano Council of Ndi Nze came to the conclusion that the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), High Chief Collins Osuagwu(PhD) is the best qualified person to serve the people of Isiala Mbano in bringing the much needed democratic dividends to the grassroots and improve the quality of life of the people.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to Chief Osuagwu at his residence in Owerri on Saturday, august 17, the Chairman of the Imo state Council of Ndi Nze, Isiala Mbano chapter, Nze Kevin Nwosu disclosed that the group zeroed in on the ADC candidate after a thorough assessment of all the candidates and aspirants vying for the chairmanship position in their LGA, especially considering their track record of selfless service in the Council area, capacity, credibility and vision/ blueprint for a new Isiala Mbano of their collective dream.
Nze Nwosu described the Council of Ndi Nze as a non partisan, non political association solely concerned with the welfare, progress and development of Isiala Mbano.
He observed that Chief Osuagwu possessed every quality needed to provide Isiala Mbano with the necessary democratic dividends at grassroots and provide the enabling environment for people’s potential to be unleashed and also attract investments into the LGA, hence their endorsement and blessing of his aspiration to become the Executive Chairman of the local government.
Earlier in his opening speech, the Director General of the Collins Osuagwu campaign organization, Mr. Lemchi Chimezie informed that his principal did not just decide to contest for the executive chairmanship position of the LGA like other candidates.
He noted that the various activities of Chief Osuagwu, through the Collins Osuagwu Foundation, which have impacted upon many lives in Isiala Mbano and beyond had attracted the attention of many sections of the Council area, including the church, hence the call from many quarters for him to come and serve Isiala Mbano as Council chairman.
Also speaking, the zonal chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Eze Nnanna expressed his delight at the endorsement of Chief Osuagwu by the elders and custodians of the tradition and culture of the LGA, assuring that the forthcoming Council elections would be free and fair as Governor Hope Uzodinma had promised that the People’s choice must prevail.
The zonal chairman urged the elders to be steadfast and help share the good news of change coming to Isiala Mbano through the coming tenure of Chief Osuagwu as executive chairman.
Responding on the visit of the Isiala Mbano Council of Ndi Nze, Chief Osuagwu said he was overwhelmed at the gesture, especially as they had come all the way from home.
In his kind words, he promised never to disappoint them, if elected and that he would always have an open door as the task of repositioning the LGA would be a collective one.
The highlight of the event was the offering of prayers for a successful campaign and victory on Chief Osuagwu by the elders, as well as committing him into the hands of God for care and protection.
