Ahead of September 21st Local Government election in Imo, the leaders of APC in Orlu LGA have presented Ikechukwu Egwuatu to the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma as Consensus candidate for the party.
In a letter signed by Dr Emeka Enyinna as coordinator and Peter Okorie as Secretary and made available to Lead, they appealed to Governor to accept Egwuatu who they described not only as true APC man but a shared Prosperity Apostle.

APC Leaders of Thought is a caucus of All Progressives Congress within the APC Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State was instituted for the maintenance of order and Political transformation and development of our great party.
We write here as accredited members of the group within the APC Orlu LGA Leadership and members.
We have carefully Followed the political activities of our great party APC as we prepare for the forthcoming Local Government Elections.
We were emboldened to interface with you, our Distinguished Governor on the selection of a candidate for the Executive Chairmanship position by your pronouncement for the local government elections and the ISIEC meeting stakeholders and political parties in Owerri , Imo State to that effect.
Your Execllency sir, you have asked all interested in contesting any of the positions from Chairmanship to councilorshipe to go and procure the nominations ; thatg Government has not endorsed any person for any position and that WHERE THERE IS AN ALREADY ZONING ARRANGEMENT, THAT LEADERS MUST, SHOW SENSITIVITY TO IT AND APPROPRIATELY RECOGNISE AND INCOPERATE IT IN THEIR CHOICE OF CANDIDATE.
Your Execllency, It is pertinent here to inform you officially here that Orlu Local Government Area as presently constituted is made up of two clans namely ISU AND ORSU.
Over the years, leaders from these TWO CLANS had agreed and had maintained it that the TWO POSITIONS HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY MEMBER AND THE ELECTED LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN POSITIONS BE ROTATED BETWEEN THESE TWO CLANS SINCE THEY ARE THE TWO ELECTIVE POLITICAL POSITIONS THAT ARE SOLELY UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE LGA CONSTITUENTS.
Currently, the Honourable member representing the LGA in IMO HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMES FROM ISU CLAN, HENCE THE NEXT PERSON FOR EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN SHOULD COME FROM ORSU CLAN.
It was in the line with the above consideration that the LEADERS IN ORLU APC SUMMONED OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS IN APC TO ASCERTAIN THOSE WHO HAD PROCURED THE APC FORMS AND WILLING TO CONTEST THE ELECTION ON THE PARTY PLATFORM.
AFTER VERY INDEPTH DISCUSSION AND DELIBERATIONS, CHIEF HENRY IKENNA EGWUATU (UZUOMEE) , EMERGED AS THE CONSENSUS CANDIDATE AND LEADERS WERE DIRECTED TO CANVASS THIS AMONG THE PARTY LEADERSHIP CAUCUS OF APC IN ORLU LGA. THIS HAS BEEN DONE AND RESPONSE WAS QUITE POSITIVE. We were equally mindful of the security challenges within the LGA and felt that the political system should not be heated.
IT WAS THIS BASIS THAT WE WHOSE NAMES AND SIGNATURES ARE APPENDED BELOW FORWARD THE NAME OF CHIEF HENRY IKENNA EGWUATU FOR YOUR KIND CONSIDERATION AND ADOPTION AS OUR PARTY CANDIDATE FOR THE ORLU CHAIRMANSHIP POSITION.
We want to assure you that, if elected he will be loyal and supportive of your efforts in advancing government programmes and vision for Imo State, Imolities and Nigeria at large.
