The Imo Redemption Force (IRF) has passed a vote of implicit confidence on the Senator Representing Imo West Senatorial District, Senator Osita Izunaso, OFR, in recognition of his outstanding legislative contributions and transformative impact on his constituents and beyond.
In a statement made available to Lead Express Newspapers and signed by the Director General of the group, Hon. Timothy Kalu, the IRF applauded Senator Izunaso’s performance in the 10th Senate, describing him as “the best thing that has happened to Imo State politically.”
According to the group, Senator Izunaso has distinguished himself through consistent and impactful lawmaking, pointing to several bills and motions he has sponsored—particularly the Securities and Investment Bill, which has been passed into law—as evidence of his legislative capacity.
“We have followed Senator Izunaso’s activities in the Senate closely. His performance has been nothing short of exemplary,” the statement read.
The group outlined several reasons for their confidence in the lawmaker, including:
“Legislative Excellence: His sponsorship of nationally relevant bills and motions, many of which have either been passed or are at advanced legislative stages; Effective Representation: His active participation in Senate deliberations, combined with his commitment to oversight and legislative responsibilities; Industrial Development Initiatives: The group credited Senator Izunaso with playing a key role in the activation of the much-celebrated ASAA Gas Plant”.
” Youth and Agricultural Empowerment: The Senator has facilitated multiple training programs focused on agriculture and entrepreneurship, providing start-up capital and resources to beneficiaries across Orlu Zone in 2024; Capital Project Influence: The IRF revealed it had reviewed the national budget and found Senator Izunaso instrumental in securing significant capital projects for communities across the Orlu Zone; Principled Leadership: The group commended his developmental approach to politics, emphasizing empowerment over handouts. “His philosophy is not to feed people with fish, but to teach them how to fish, as well as Regional Representation: As a member of the ECOWAS Parliament, Senator Izunaso continues to project Nigeria’s and Imo State’s interests on a regional level”.
Dismissing any attempts by detractors to malign the Senator’s achievements, the IRF warned against politically motivated distractions.
“We encourage Senator Izunaso not to be distracted by those whose only aim is to spread false narratives and create confusion among the people,” the group added.
The Imo Redemption Force however reaffirmed its total support for the Senator, encouraging him to maintain his focus and build on his achievements.
“Our implicit confidence remains firmly on Senator Osita Izunaso. He has our support any time, any day. Soon, we shall organize a grand event to celebrate him. He truly deserves it.”
