A business mogul and Philanthropist,Prince Ifeanyi Amajiri has appealed to Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma to consider Amike Autonomous Community in Orlu LGA in the ongoing infrastructural development in Imo.
This is even as he commended the Commissioner for Police in Imo, Aboki Danjuma over what he described as not only “ending kidnapping” in the State but has also put to a stop, extortion of all kinds by officers and other forms of corruption.
Amajiri who disclosed this to Journalists in Owerri on Tuesday further revealed his preparedness to build a double 3 bedroom flat quarters for officers in Amike.
This, according to him is aimed at showing appreciation to the Police boss and his team in Imo for restoring peace and security in the State
Describing Amike Autonomous Community as a community of particular concern infrastructure wise, Amajiri who has through his Foundation (Amajiri Foundation) provided jobs for teeming Orlu People appealed to Governor to extend his infrastructural development to Amike adding that Amike has remained the only Community in Orlu LGA that has never been remembered by all the previous administrations
He however used the medium to express gratitude to the Governor for changing Orlu into a model modern city adding that under Uzodinma, the new Government House Annex is 99 percent completion, the Orlu Secretariat in preparation for the ANIM State is nearing completion.
Describing the proposed ANIM State as a welcome development, Amajiri however commended Governor Uzodinma on vision while urging other leaders in Imo to rally round him.
According to him, Amike as an Autonomous Community is blessed by nature with acres of lands adding that the Community is ever ready to give them out for infrastructure.
Amajiri further revealed that the Industrial Layout Site mapped out by Imo State Government has remained fallow for years without anything done on it rather private individuals have been encroaching on the Land , using it for other purposes other than what it is meant for.
He however appealed to the State Government to put the Land to use adding that if such is done,a lot of Imo Youths would be employed.
If Governor can go into the acres of Land designated for Industrial Layout in Amike with a view of using it for the said purpose, that alone has capacity of employing thousands of Orlu People and Imo in general, he said.
