Intervention To Reach 1m Kids With Vitamin Supplements, Vaccination, Deworming, Kaduru Hails Uzodinma

A renowned public health physician and philanthropist, Chief Dr Chijioke Kaduru, the Nkwa Chi kwere 1 of Obiangwu community of Ngor Okpala local government area and Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Owerri senatorial district, has doled out immeasurable praises to Imo state governor, Senator Dr Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSSR on the ongoing intervention programme aimed at reaching one million children and about two hundred thousand pregnant women with vitamin supplements, vaccination and deworming across all communities and political wards in the state.

Appreciating the Imo state Chief Executive, Senator Dr Hope Uzodimma for steadily showing keen interest and concern on public health issues and programmes, Dr Chijioke Kaduru who in his capacity as the Chief Convener of Nkwa Chi kwere Foundation, a humanitarian organization, described yesterday’s flag off of the maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) week by Imo state First Lady, Barr Dr Mrs Chioma Uzodimma in conjunction with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency as a giant stride by the Hope Uzodimma-led 3-R mantra administration in efforts to boost healthcare delivery in the state.

The public health practitioner, Chijioke Kaduru observed with happiness that the Imo government organized week-long healthcare service entails the deployment of teams across health centres in the entire state to administer treatments on pregnant women and less-than five-old children.

The expert on public health matters hinted that programme targets at reaching 1.1 million children and about two hundred thousand pregnant women for free treatment.

Commending Governor Uzodimma for ensuring that the maternal, newborn and child health week was designed to be executed by renowned public health practitioners drawn from both public and private sectors, the Chief Convener of Nkwa Chi kwere Foundation pointed out that the programme has in its package, multivitamin supplementation, deworming, vaccination and treatment of minor illnesses.

Applauding the Imo health sector team under the supervision of the state Commissioner for health, Dr Mrs Chioma Egu, for guiding government properly in designing a workable and effective healthcare service, Dr Chijioke Kaduru pledged continued support for the 3-R administration’s initiatives.
