…Says matter pending in court.
State of anarchy set to become the order of the day in Umudioka Ukwu Autonomous Community in Orlu LGA if nothing is done and in the right time too following the issuace of Staff of office to Mr Barthlomeu Ibeawuch by Imo State Government on the 22nd of March 2025.
Investigations carried out by Lead revealed that majority of the people in the Community condemned the issuance of staff of office to the said Ibeawuchi whose emergence according to them did not follow the rules as well as traditions governing the Ezeship stool in the Community.
One of the Community leaders who chose to speak on the guise of anonymity however appealed to the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma to come to the rescue of the Community and avert impending crisises that may disrupt the peace of the Community.
In a similar development, the town Union of the Umudioka-Ukwu Autonomous s Community has in a Letter dated March 25th 2025 appealed to the State Government to revisit its act of issuance of Staff of office to the said bearer while the matter is still pending in Court.
In the said latter titled “Re: Recognition and issuance of Staff of Office To Mr Barthlomew Ibeawuchi On the 22nd March 2025 As the Eze Of Umudioka -Ukwu Autonomous Community In Orlu LGA Amidst The Pendency Of The Suite No How 1479/ 2022 In the Law Court, An Act Against The Rule Of Law Not Acceptable To us”
In the letter signed by Surv. N.O Osigwe as President General of the Community and Hon Cletus Nwachukwu as the Secretary General of the Community respectively, they however made it clear that Governor Uzodinma may not be aware of the pending suit in Court as well as the issuance of the Staff given his busy daily engagements and schedules hence this Letter.
They further admonished the Community to be law abiding while awaiting for the timely intervention of the Governor who they described as a listening father.
