Jubilation in Orlu LGA and Amike Autonomous Community in particular as Prince Ifeanyi Amajiri has introduced what he termed ” Operation Keep Amike Clean” aimed at keeping the entire Community clean.
This is even as he engaged the services of widows on thirty thousand naira monthly Salaries to carry out the said assignment.
Amajiri, an Orlu based business Mogul has also undertaken to be paying Hospital bills of Women in the five Autonomous Communities of Orlu who deliver at Amike Health Centre as well as immunization of Kids.
The five Communities who have been enjoying this gesture are Amike Autonomous Community,Umueze Autonomous Community, Eziachi Autonomous Community, Orlu Autonomous Community and Umudioka Ukwu Autonomous Community.
In a similar vain, Amajiri has injected life into cultural activities of Amike by re introducing the abandoned yearly traditional wrestling of Amike Autonomous Community.
Speaking at the official kick-off the operation keep Amike Clean held in the Community which is aimed at ensuring that Amike and it’s environ is steadily kept clean, the Convener ,Prince Amajiri expressed gratitude to the People of Amike for embracing the program adding that he would ensure that those employed to be carrying out the assignment receive their monthly Salaries.
Unveiling the implements for the work which include Litter bins, Shovels, nose mast amongst, Apron amongst others ,Amajiri who described cleanliness as next to Godliness however appealed to the workers who are mainly widows to ensure they do their bidding pointing out that God and Community as a whole would not let them down while carrying out the assigned duty.
Amajiri who used the forum to appreciate Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma on the numerous Roads his administration has constructed and rehabilitated in Orlu and Amike in particular made it known to the People that his main objective in carrying out these social responsibilities is to assist the Uzodinma led administration which according to him has performed creditably.
He further used the forum to thank the Governor for the ongoing free Medical Services at Imo State Teaching Hospital Orlu .
Whatever you see me do today is done to alleviate the problems of our People as well as assisting our dear Governor who has taken it upon himself to help our People,he said. Responding to the question on his reason for sponsoring the ongoing free birth delivery as well as free treatment from 0- 3 years, he made it clear that given the hardship in Nigeria and Imo in particular, some of the pregnant women may not be able to provide themselves with all the necessary things to help them deliver safe hence his assistance.
Commenting on the Wrestling festival of Amike which he has now revived as annual event, the soft spoken business Mogul hinted that the wrestling has been part and parcel of Amike Autonomous Community adding that he brought out the belt last August with a sum of five hundred thousand and as well gave out Two hundred thousand separately to the drummers to remind our People what aspect of our culture that looks like it has forgotten.
According to him, our aged parents feel good again when they see the Youths repeating and reminding them things they used to do in the past,that alone gives them life and sense of fulfillment.
He however used the medium to admonish the Youths of Orlu Zone to desist from any act capable of ruining their future and lives while describing them as the future of tomorrow.
