It was indeed a jubilation galore in Alaoma Owerri Ebeiri in Orlu LGA over the weekend as the popular business mogul known for his contributions across Imo in building men both in politics and business, Chief Aloy Igwe was elected by the community as the Traditional Ruler of Alaoma Owerri Ebeiri Autonomous Community.
This is even as he was described as a Philantopist by the Traditional Prime Minister of the Community, Chief Josephat Dike.
The election which started with accreditation of voters by the electoral committee chaired by Chief Livinus Egeonu from 8 am to 12 noon took place at Umuegbe village Hall, Alaoma Owerri Ebeiri.
Immediately after the accreditation which had the Seven Villages fully participated as well as 144 Voters accredited, the election began by 12 Noon and ended by 2:56 P,M.
The Seven Villages that participated in the said election were Umuegbe Village, Umuokekpu Village,Umuokwu Village, Umuduru Village, Umuonyekweleonwu Village, Eziala Umuokwaba Village and Umuokwara Onyejesim Village.
Addressing the 144 electorate after the election, the returning officer who is also the Chairman of the electoral committee,Chief Livinus Egeonu expressed gratitude to the voters on the peaceful manners they conducted themselves pointing out that they had indeed shown and proved that the wellbeing of the Community was of priority to them.
In their separate speeches, the Traditional Prime Minister of the Community, Chief Dike and the youth leader of the community Kizito Osunkwo expressed happiness over the peaceful conduct of the election and pledged their unalloyed support for the new King, Chief Aloy Igwe.
The duo who disclosed this to our reporter after the election further appealed to the new King to use his wealth of experience as a successful business man to move the Community forward.
Responding to the question on why Chief Igwe was elected unopposed while the Community has sound people from different walks of life, the prime minister made it clear that the Eze Elect had helped a lot of people to become various personalities in different fields of endeavor adding that his philantropy warranted his being elected unopposed.
Let me tell you Journalist, this very hall we are conducting this election was decked by him alone, this is one of many of his philantrophism,he said.
In fact, we elected him unopposed because what he stands for,he added.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Aloy Igwe who was elected unopposed thanked the people for finding him worthy of the seat adding that he would deploy all his contacts in lifting the community to an enviable height.
Responding to the question on whether or not he would resign from politics having being elected a monarch,hear him”I have resigned from active politics as well as partisan politics.,I have answered the call of my people and have come to serve them as their Traditional Ruler and no going back,he affirmed”
Chief Igwe,who used the opportunity to appeal to the youths of the Community to always toe the line of legality in the pursuit of their livelihood made it clear that he would not hesitate to go to any length to secure and protect any youth unjustly manhandled or treated as long as the said person doesn’t err.
Describing Alaoma Owerri Ebeiri as a peaceful Community, Chief Aloy Igwe, popularly known and addressed as Chief Chinaemeze appealed to the elders and leaders of the Community to support him in moving the community forward adding that their collective support would spur him into giving the Community his best in all ramifications.
It would be recalled that Chief Aloy Igwe who is now the Eze Elect of Alaoma Owerri Ebeiri Autonomous Community had few days ago presented his manifesto to the Community where he unveiled his plans for the community Inline with the constitution of the community.

He was the Imo State PDP State Vice Chairman from 2015 to 2019 as well as
the PDP Candidate For Orlu,Orsu and Oru East Federal Constituency in 2023.

Donation of palliative which included bags of Rice,Tubers of Yam, Cartons of Indomie amongst Others to the 26 Villages of Owerre-ebeiri and Alaoma during the horrifying outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
As at the time of filing this report, Lead gathered that Chief Igwe had over years,held what bis known as annual charity where widows and the needy have always received succor.
