It was a jubilation galore in Orlu and Owerre/ Umudioka ancient kingdom as HRH, Eze Remigius Maduwuba, Okadike 11 of Owerre/Umudioka received Staff of Office as the new Monarch of the Community.
Eze Remigius was one of the sixty six Traditional Rulers issued with the Staff of Office on Saturday 23rd of March 2025 by the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
Addressing the crowd that graced the occasion, the Monarch foremost expressed gratitude to the People of the Community for finding him worthy of being their King adding that he would not be found wanting in the areas of effective leadership.
Describing the traditional stool as a call for service, the Canadian based business mogul turned Monarch however appealed to the Community not to relent on giving him unalloyed supports pointing out that he would provide the people with the needed leadership devoid of bias and sentiment.
In his submission, one of the friends of the Monarch, Chief Felix Okereke commended the People of Owerre/ Umudioka for the choice of Eze Remigius as the King of the Community, assuring that they would not regret their decision.
Describing the Monarch as a gift to the Community, one of his subjects, Prince Stanley Nwosu thanked the People for electing the Monarch to serve the People.
Nwosu who is presently the Chairman of the APC in Orlu LGA used the forum to commend the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma for hearkening to the wishes of the Community by not only recognizing Eze Maduwuba but also granting him the Staff of Office.
It will be recalled that Eze Okadike before his election to the Throne was known for his philantrophy both in Umudioka ancient kingdom and Orlu in general.
Okadike before his assumption of office as the Eze of the Community had good number of the people from the Community on scholarship through his foundation.
The Monarch had on December 2024 enrolled Students for nursing training amongst other Courses in the various institutions.
