: Warns Against Loitering At Govt House
: Advises Monarchs To Shun Partisan.
Ahead of September 21st Local Government election in Imo, the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has called on the APC Aspirants to go home and identify with the electorate.
This is even as he warned them against loitering within the Government House premises, seeking for favour.
The Governor who disclosed this in Owerri at the Stakeholders Meeting also charged the Traditional Rulers against partisan politics.
According to the Governor, the forthcoming Local Government election in Imo must be transparent and popularity based pointing out that those who think it would be business as usual would be disappointed.
The Governor however made it clear that no person in Imo,he himself inclusive would influence the election.
He urged the royal father’s to ensure the unity of the South and entire Nigeria as people with common ancestry.
The governor emphasised the enormous powers the royal father’s wield in the dispensation of justice and the maintenance of peace.
He further tasked the royal fathers to lead in the concerted efforts to promote security in their domains, adding that their active participation in this regard would check the nefarious activities of non state actors whose actions constitute threat to national security..
In his speech, the Secretary to the Federal government, Senator George Akume said the president has much regards for the traditional rulers institution.
He described royal fathers as the chief custodians of culture, adding that the traditional institution in Africa is indispensible
He recalled the great role traditional rulers played in the evolution of modern Nigeria.
