LGA Poll Owerre Ebeiri Endorses Ohaechesi for Councillor
Calls on Electorate to Vote Him
In a significant political development, the Owerre-Ebeiri Autonomous Community has endorsed Hon. Ohaechesi Henry as their sole candidate for the upcoming 2024 council election.
This decision came after a crucial meeting held on September 7th, 2024, which involved leaders from both Owerre-Ebeiri Ancient Kingdom and Alaoma Owerre Ebeiri Autonomous Community.
During the meeting, the community leaders reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful governance and restated that it is the turn of the Umuekepu village to produce the councillor for the Owerre-Ebeiri extraction in the upcoming election. The consensus was that any individual or village outside Umuekepu that attempts to contest for the position would face sanctions, in accordance with the community’s established laws.
The endorsement of Hon. Ohaechesi Henry was unanimous, based on the fact that he was the only candidate from Umuekepu village who expressed interest in running for the councillorship.
Leaders appealed to the electorate within the Owerre-Ebeiri Autonomous Communities to show their support by coming out to vote for him on the election day.
The community’s decision reflects a deep-seated tradition of zoning political offices, ensuring that each village takes its turn in leadership roles, thereby promoting fairness and unity.
