Recently dissolved Appointees that worked with Uzodinma in the just concluded first term may heave a sigh of relief as Uzodinma Moves to dissolve the Coordinators of various Development Centres amongst other parastatalsThis move followed motion moved by the member representing Nwangele State Constituency in Imo House of Assemble, Rt Hon Chyna Amara Iwuanyanwu.
Lead gathered that the recently dissolved Appointees of the Governor have been mounting pressure on the Governor to in same manners he dissolved them, dissolve the Coordinators of various Development Centres.
A source from the Government House hinted Lead that most of the Development Centres Coordinators were recommended to the Governor by the sacked Appointees and have fallen out with their masters by taking over the leadership in their various LGAs and this took another dimension when they were dissolved recently.
Same source further hinted that the Development Centres Coordinators were closer to the party members in the rural areas and they as well were supporting the party more than other party leaders particularly the Commissioners.
Lead gathered that the Development Centres Coordinators were originally not in the list invited by the Governor on the 16th of January being the day the Expanded Exco was dissolved but they were instructed to appear at the meeting, thinking that Governor would dissolve them along side.
The said Coordinators who were scared of being dissolved along side the Exco got relieved when the Governor told them that they weren’t part of the meeting of the day and as well would not be dissolved.
Some of the Coordinators who spoke to Lead on the guise of anonymity made it clear that started having issues with their leaders immediately they were appointed following their refusal to remit certain amount from their monthly salaries hence their efforts to ensure their removal.
At the Plenary yesterday,Imo State House of Assembly moved a motion urging the governor of Imo state, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma to urgently dissolve all the board of parastals, local government development centres and all extra ministrial departments and commissions and appoint new ones for increased productivity.
This was contained in a motion moved by the member representing Nwangele state Constituency and the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu and was unanimously adopted by the whole house in a plenary, Wednesday morning.
In a motion titled a “Motion Of Urgent Public Importance And Motion To Immediately Dissolve All Boards Of Parastals And Agencies Of Imo State Government, Extra Ministerial Departments And Commissions In The State Including Development Centre Coordinators”.
The house noted that the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodimma is desirous to leave lasting legacies in his second and last tenure in office as Governor of Imo State;
In the motion, the house further noted that the Governor has hit the ground running by dissolving the former expanded Exco, former SOLADS and Strategic Appointees.
The house also noted that they were aware that public service delivery needs to be improved and enhanced by increasing productivity in areas like wealth creation, access to Basic Healthcare, Agriculture, Education, Reduction in poverty rate, High rate ofchild and maternal mortality and improved Civil/Public Service culture amongst
others while feeling concerned that this is a new tenure and that there is need to re-jig the entire system for this enhanced productivity;
While furthering that if round pegs are not put round holes, the Governor’s blue print and development Agenda for this second tenure may not be achieved hence the resolution of the entire house for the governor to dissolve the aforementioned offices for increased productivity.
The house further resolved that the governor should take into consideration of excellence, merit and commitment while making
new appointments in order to take Imo State to
