Murdered Lawyer: police arrest inspector, 4 others as suspects

…Assure NBA Of Diligence.

Imo police command have arrested an Inspector of Police and four other persons as Suspects in connection with the murder of an Orlu based Lawyer, Barr Chinedu Nwowu.
This is even as they assured the leadership of NBA in Imo of diligence in prosecuting the matter.
Late Barr Chinedu Nwowu was few days ago, shot dead along Mgbidi Road on his way back from the Court.
In a release signed by the Secretary of Owerri branch of NBA, Daniel Odiba , the Commissioner of Police in Imo, Aboki Danjuma disclosed this when the leadership of the NBA Owerri branch led by the Chairman, Barr Chris Ihentuga paid him a courtesy call to ascertain the stage of the said matter.
In the said release, the Security boss assured the NBA of thorough and diligency in prosecuting the case despite the fact that an Inspector of Police who is a kinsman of the deceased is one of the Suspects.

During the meeting, the Bar leaders urged the Police to ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to justice. They assured the Police of the willingness of the Bar to collaborate and support the ongoing investigation.

The Police informed the delegation that investigations have commenced. The case file and suspects have been transferred from the Mgbidi Police Division to the Homicide Section of the State CID, the statement read in part.
