:Kinsmen Demand Sensitive Positions
: Describe Last Administration As Compensation To Friends, Others.
Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma appears to be under pressure to consider and accommodate new faces in the new cabinet.
This is even as the kins Men under the umbrella of Oru nation demand for sensitive positions in the yet to be formed Cabinet.
Governor Uzodinma had January 16th 2024 dissolved the old expanded Exco inline with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Addressing the outgone Executive at Sam Mbakwe Expanded Exco Hall Government House, the Governor while thanking them for working with him to lift Imo to an enviable height assured that those who did well in their various assigned offices would be reappointed while those who didn’t do well would not be reappointed.
However, while the Governor is yet to constitute the new Cabinet,Lead gathered that the kinsmen of the Governor under the appellation of ” Oru nation were said to have informed the Governor of their interest in certain sensitive positions in the Government which include the office of the Chief of Staff presently occupied by Barr Nnamdi Anyaehie, the Ministry of Lands amongst Others.
The said kinsmen also informed the Governor that the immediate past administration was used by him to compensate friends and well wishers pointing out that the Chunk of the new cabinet has to go to Oru nation who according to them s was marginalized and caged out of the just concluded Government.
They however reminded the Governor that Oru nation, particularly East never produced a Commissioner in the just concluded administration,an act which they described as a bereft of rights.
A source from the Government House hinted Lead that this demand by the Governor’s kinsmen has generated fear amongst the Appointees particularly those that had one illegal deals and the other during the just concluded administration as Governor may heed to the genuine complaint of kinsmen.
Same source further hinted that the said pressure from the Governor’s kinsmen as well as others from certain leaders of the party were part of the reasons that forced the Governor to leave the State to enable him plan well and bring onboard people with sound minds to work with him in the new Government.
