Nnamdi Kanu’s detention re-echoes as Imo former AG, Machukwu Ume writes Tinubu, Fagbemi

The continued detention of the leader of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu by the order of the Nigeria Federal Government has taken another dimension as another Igbo Son and former Attorney General of Imo State, Chukwuma Machukwu Ume SAN has written to President Tinubu and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, demanding for Kanu’s release .

This is even as he attributed the insecurity in the South East to the continued detention of the said Nnamdi Kanu.
In a Letter dated February 24th 2025 signed by the Senior Advocate himself and made available to Lead, he appealed to President to look for Political solution in solving the pending case of Kanu pointing out that the whole World is looking at Nigeria and the method it has employed in handling the case.

In the said Letter titled ” healing the wounds in our nation building efforts and matching Nigeria towards a new stable nation, Machukwu Ume made it clear that the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu has inflicted what he described as ugly shortcomings on Nigerians adding that patriotism is not founded on brutal force.
It would be recalled that many Nigerians, particularly the Igbos had at various times, called for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

Such persons include, the former President General of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide,late Engr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, his predecessor,late prof George Obiozor.
Others include Senator representing Imo West in the Senate, Senator Osita Izunaso, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Anambra born business mogul, Chief. Arthur Eze amongst others.
