A leader of thought, Lawyer and retired Nigerian Army officer from Amawom autonomous community in Owerri municipal Council, Chief Sam Ahamefula Uneze- Onyekwe, has hailed the recent supreme court victory affirming Governor Hope Uzodinma as the duly elected governor of Imo state, saying that the verdict marked the end of all disputes concerning the state’s governorship election of November 2023.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri last Monday, Chief Uneze–Onyekwe called on all Imolites to put all differences aside and support the governor in the task providing democracy dividends to the people.
Chief Sam Ahamefula Uneze–Onyekwe called on Governor Uzodinma to now focus on those endeavours that have high multiplier effects on the lives of the people such as the construction of a link bridge on the Otamiri river linking Old Orlu road secretariat and Onitsha road.
The Amawom born businessman argued that the construction of a bridge on that Otamiri river linking Old secretariat Orlu road and Onitsha road would open up that vast area to investors of different kinds and help decongest traffic at Warehouse, Control Post and also provide business and living spaces for the teeming population of Owerri municipal and environs.
Further arguing, Chief Uneze–Onyekwe stated that opening up that area by constructing the link bridge would help the government’s efforts in ensuring security of lives and property as the criminals who presently operate from that area would be dislodged.
Chief Uneze–Onyekwe also encouraged the Imo governor to open up that area which has great potential of democracy dividends to Imolites and promises to be a veritable legacy of his administration in the state.
